I’ve avoided Politics so Far…

I’m about 75% decided as to who I’m voting for in the upcoming presidential election.  I’m hoping that there will be some substance discussed in the debates to help me over my indecision.

One of the things that has bothered me this election is what has happened to John McCain.  I used to think he was the greatest – a moderate Republican who went against the stream of party thought when he disagreed, and would reach “across the aisle” when reforms were necessary.  I’ve seen none of that in this campaign, and I just couldn’t put my finger on it.

Thank goodness for The Daily Show.  Sadly, I present what should be a commercial for Barack Obama’s presidency.

It’s hysterical, and sad all at once.  Who’s the real John McCain?

The New "N-Word"

Nappy. There, I said it.

I’d love to wax eloquent on the current state of race relations in America, but I’d end up being labeled racist and just use all the cliches that everyone else is using.

Further, I was saved the effort by Jason Whitlock, a BLACK sports columnist with the Kansas City Star. This guy nails it.

Bottom line is this - it is absolutely ridiculous that Don Imus has been dropped from MSNBC, and surely will lose his radio job as well. A five minute apology, and then let’s all move on.

How many people were killed today in Iraq? Darfur? In our avoidance of real issues, we have supplanted the Anna Nicole Smith (who I hear just recently has finally achieved her goal weight) debacle with this latest update on race relations in America according to Sharpton and Jackson.
